The following thesis aims to describe school graders’ perceptions of audio files and digital storytelling for understanding simple messages in English in a subsidized school. The type of study of this research is a case study due to it intends to examine the complexities of what happens in a system of people, in this case, eight 16-year-old students from 10th grade from a Chilean high school. In order to carry out this research, two tools were used: Digital Storytelling and Audio track. Digital Storytelling is characterized by including images and background sounds; meanwhile, the main aspect of Audio files is based on the fact that it only contains an audio recording. The process to gather the required material was a planned lesson, where both tools were applied to the students; later on, a semantic differential scale was used to collect the students’ perception about both tools. From the analysis of the results of the applied instruments, it can be observed that, in general, both tools received positive feedback. However, there was a slight tendency towards the digital storytelling tool.es_CL
